What do you do?: I am a freelance makeup artist and I also work as an online community builder for an association in DC.

What makes you and your business unique? Brag!: I don't just love makeup for myself, I daydream about makeup and editorial stories...right now I am fixated on creating an edgy Marie Antoinette, for example. I truly study up on something related to makeup or fashion almost every day.

How do you know Kacy, or, who invited you?: Through talking with Kacy on the phone about the sorry state of my home office!

What type of connections and referrals are you looking for? Be specific if you can. It makes it easier on everyone here who wants to help.: I'd love to connect with anyone who is interested in working on creative efforts together or anyone who likes to talk about social networking. Really, I'm interested in talking to any entrepreneurs out there who are passionate about their businesses - this is fun stuff!

Is there a book or two you that you think every entrepreneur should read?: Career Distinction (standing out by building your brand) by William Aruda and K. Dixon

If everyone in this "room" were to advise you on one aspect of your business, what would it be?: Branding (clarification: classy yet inexpensive logo design, etc!)

What is your wildest dream for your business that you think is too off-the-wall to share with most people?: I would like to have the ability to be the creative director of my own shoots and choose the talent, photogs, wardrobe...

What is one of the best business decisions you've ever made?: Allowing my hobby to become a service I'm paid for!

Anything else you want to promote?: I am a co-producer/screener for the DC Mortified chapter, so if you still have any diaries from the 6th grade that you'd like to revisit, let's talk!

Favorite local spots for meeting up with friends or biz contacts?: Starbucks on P Street (Dupont Location), Cafe Citron, Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda

And of course, can you share an office organizing or productivity tip, or must have product?: My must-have product is Smashbox Photofinish and if we have to talk about office items that are must-haves, I'd say a quality journal for keeping records of phone calls and taking notes daily.

I read about this ning.com thing last week in Fast Company magazine. I already have a referral for you for a beautiful and affordable logo designer. He's an art student in Michigan I found through etsy.com when he had his graphics service on that site.
