Daily Candy was beyond wonderful and hopefully the start of much more press to come. My dream is to be featured in O Magazine. I mean it. I'll start with The Washington Post though. Well, share an O contact if you have it!
Hi Kacy,
Your press in Daily Candy was great! It was how I found you and how I find so many great products and places. I sent a handbag to the style editor at a favorite fashion website and was really pleased to be featured in their Hot Products page. They did a great little bit of press on the handbag because she loved it and we were later able to show a sale advertisement as well.

I love it. Me too! O magazine and then O show! I'm with you Kacy. I had fun joining this. Started and couldn't stop as you can see. I am not sure how all these friends sites work, but I joined a few. People keep sending me these - Linkdin, Plaxo, My Space, etc. What do you do with it all?
Kacy, Thanks for the invite. Howard U has something similar which I joined a while ago and it can be addicitive LOL:) - Such a great idea. A few good press/PR resources I'd like to share - puiblicityhound.com, publicityinsider.com and there's also a list I've heard of called PR Leads.com. I think you have to pay for PRLeads, but it's one of the places where journalists submit requests for leads on various topics. I am working on establishing myself as an expert so that I'll be listed in directories of experts, etc... Hope this helps folks looking for PR.
Wendy McAllister (in this network) just told me about www.helpareporter.com. It's a free email subscription that notifies you of reporter and editor requests for interviewees and experts.
All they ask is that you promise to only respond if you genuinely feel you are qualified to contribute to the request.
I just received my first email from them. It's easy to read and there were close to 30 requests. I'm not sure how often it is sent out.
Wendy also sent me to http://www.TVPublicityTeleseminar.com/?10011 for an upcoming teleseminar called "The Three Big Secrets for Getting Booked as a
Guest on Top National TV Shows". He'll be interviewling someone who formerly booked guests on Oprah. This will be on Thursday, July 31.
Beth Chang does the "Making It" feature of interesting entrepreneurs in the Washington Post Magazine. She's featured both Valerie Theberge and me, Klia Bassing.
This is a great thread! Thanks for all of the tips, everyone. I'm having dinner with friends tonight who are tapped in to local media contacts and I'll see what I can find out from them to share on here!
